Yusuf Memon Found Dead in Nashik Central Jail on Friday

Underworld Don Yusuf Memon Found Dead in Nashik Central Jail on Friday, He was the Brother of Underworld Don Tiger Menon. But the reason behind his death is still unclear. According to police officials, Menon’s body will be sent for postmortem in Dhule.

On the other hand, Yusuf was serving a life sentence regarding the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case. Based on initial information, the jail administration is investigating it as a heart attack. Yusuf Memon was charged with being involved in the plan of the Mumbai serial blast. He was serving a life sentence in Nashik jail.

Yusuf Memon was sentenced to life detention in 2007. He was earlier lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail. After this, he was shifted to Nashik jail in 2018. Yakub Memon’s brother Issac Memon is also serving a sentence in Nashik jail.

On March 12, 1993, there were 12 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai within 2 hours and 10 minutes.  And around 317 people were killed in the serial blasts also 1400 people were injured.

After this incident, Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon, along with his brother Yusuf Memon, were named in the blast. But Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon left the country soon after the blasts.

Among those convicted in the Mumbai bomb blasts, 4 members from Tiger Memon’s family were involved. One of these brothers, Yakub Memon, was hanged in Nagpur Central Jail. He was the most educated member of the family. A few years ago, Yakub’s brother Suleman Memon got bail due to a lack of evidence against him.

However, Yakub’s real brothers Isa and Yusuf were serving life imprisonment in Nasik jail. And Tiger and Ayub Memon are still absconding. Yakub’s sister-in-law Rubina (Suleman’s wife) is lodged in Pune jail. At the same time, wife Rubina got bail due to a lack of evidence.

Well, Tiger Memon’s father Abdul Razzaq and mother Hanifa have been charged with the bombings. Later on, released on bail. Razzaq died in 2001 at the age of 73. He was called Tiger. The name was inspired by Nawab Pataudi (Tiger Pataudi).
