15 BSF Soldiers Came Out Positive in Corona Test at Chhattisgarh’s Kanker District

Coronavirus pandemic had already affected so many people across the world and now, our 15 BSF Soldiers Came out positive in Corona Test in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, officials made a statement on Wednesday.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the BSF army in Chhattisgarh has increased up to 26, they said.

The officials said that among the 15 new cases, reports of 14 (BSF) Soldiers came out positive on late Tuesday night, while another one tested positive in the evening, Kanker’s Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Jagjivan Ram Uike told PTI.

Out of these people, 10 of the soldiers were kept at a quarantine center in Bande village while the others were placed at a similar facility in Antagarh. Further, he said, adding that after their reports came out Corona positive, then they were being admitted to a hospital in Jagdalpur.

With the latest cases, the overall ratio of positive cases in the BSF has reached 26 in the state. Out of these, six soldiers have been discharged after recovery, a BSF official said.

And out of the other 15 new cases, seven soldiers are from the BSF’s 132nd battalion, five from 17th battalion, two from 82nd battalion, and one from 167th battalion, he said.

All the troopers had returned to their places of posting from different states, including West Bengal, Odisha, and Bihar, after assisting leave, he said.

The BSF is broadly deployed in the insurgency-hit Kanker district for Anti-Naxal operations. Till Tuesday, the state’s Covid-19 cases count was 2,385. These also included 846 active cases.

It’s sad to say that our frontline soldiers are also coming into contact with this virus to keep people safe, besides that the soldiers are still serving their duties to protect the motherland from china in Ladakh.
