Indian Railways runs 23 special trains for NDA, NA exams aspirants

Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said Central Railways of the Indian Railways will run 23 special trains for the accommodation of candidates showing up for National Defense Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) tests. These completely reserved special trains will run on from September 4 to September 6.

Piyush Goyal also said in his tweet that this will enhance convenience of candidates appearing for National Defence Academy & Naval Academy exams, Railways to run special trains on 4th, 5th & 6th September. He said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Railways is leaving no stone unturned in assisting students.

In one of the statement the Central Railways said that each of the trains will make two trips, except for the CSMT Sawantwadi train. In this four services will be operated.

These special trains will be run between:

• Solapur-Mumbai
• Pune-Mumbai
• Ahmednagar-Mumbai
• Nashik Road-Mumbai
• Bhusaval Mumbai
• Mumbai-Sawantwadi Road
• Pune-Hyderabada
• Kohlapur-Nagpur
• Pune-Nagpur
• Mumbai-Nagpur
• Nashik Road-Mumbai.

The move follows Western Railways’ declaration of running 46 special train in Mumbai from September 1-6 for the comfort of JEE and NEET candidates. These trains will be reserved for those who are students and they should follow all Covid-19 related security rules ready.  Indian Railways has permitted the applicants and their guardians to go by the special trains on test days. These trains will have a variable number of AC and non AC coaches.  

The Central Railways also have appealed to all the passengers that they follow all COVID-19 related guidelines while travelling which includes wearing a mask and also maintain social distance. 

Bookings for the fully reserved special trains have started on special charges. They have commenced on September 4 at around 6pm. They are available at all computerized reservation centers and also on online platform at www.irctc.co.in
