It’s Been a Long Time since India Clinched the World cup 2011 but after almost 9 years the Sri Lanka Police have begun a criminal probe into the allegation of the 2011 world cup final sold to India cricket team.
A Criminal Investigation has begun K.D.s Ruwanchandra, The secretary to the sports Ministry, Told AFP.
Earlier This month, Aluthgamage had an interview with the Local TV Channel Sirsa Where he mentioned that this world cup final was fixed.
He said, I am telling you that we sold the 2011 world cup, as he was the sports minister at the time, he added that we were about to win but we sold the match, so he feels to talk about that and also said he is not connecting any players in this but there were members involved in this.
Regarding of this the Former Sri Lanka Captain Kumar Sangakkara who was the captain in that world cup final asked the Aluthgamage to produce the evidence of the same, and advised him he found that he should take that evidence to the Icc and the Anti-corruption and security unit so that Aluthgamage claimed can be investigated, Sangakkara Tweeted.
Even the Former Sri Lanka Captian Arvinda De silva Also refutes this allegation and urged the Indian National cricket board, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the International Cricket Council to look into this matter.
De Silva said As Players like Sachin Tendulkar Cherished their victory and he will cherish the moment for the rest of his life, I think for Sachin and the millions of fans across India, the Indian Government and their Cricket board to initiate an impartial inquiry about this and see whether they have won a fixed world cup.

However, reacting to this Controversy, the Sri Lanka players Mahela Jayawardenay who had scored an unbeaten 103 for his team on that match said, an election must be around the corner, that might be the reason why this issue is being brought up once again.
