It felt good to slow down,” Gillies says. “Overall, we were very fortunate to be able to safely spend this time with family. It was incredibly special.”

Safety for the downsized occasion was Gillies’ main concern. Rather than flying from their Atlanta, Georgia, home, the couple leased a RV and drove the separation with their dogs close by. They got tested before they left and isolated with their family for about fourteen days before the wedding. Liz told the publication that “With everything going on, it felt so ideal to be in my childhood home with nothing to do except for loosen up paving the way to the large day. We cooked and took the dogs for long strolls and truly just appreciated each other’s conversation. “She further said that “By and large, we were blessed to have the option to securely invest this energy with family. It was just special.”
