IIT-G Students Developed UV-Astra Pocket-sized Device To Sanitize Surface

Guwahati: The Fear of the getting in contacting with Covid-19 from touching the surface have prompted many of us to clear the doorknobs and even wipe the elevator keys as well, but all the could be the past because the IIT-Guwahati students now have claimed that they have built a device that could disinfect object.

It is called the “UV-Astra” a nano Ultra Violet (UV) device, which can kill viruses and bacteria and even sterilize the surface within three seconds, The creators of this Anant Mittal And Shubham Yennawr, Both Are the Civil Engineering Students at the institute.

Mittal, who has applied for a patent for the device, told PTI that “UV-Astra will prove to be the best affordable personal protection weapon against the virus.”

Earlier Mittal’s Racerfly team also had developed a drone that has an automatic sprayer which aids in sanitize the large areas including the parks and footpaths with a span of 15 minutes only.
